Our Mission

AGS is a not-for-profit American institution of higher-learning dedicated to providing the knowledge and skills to comprehend, research and work in the field of international relations and diplomacy. Our location in Paris, hub of international relations, enables AGS to provide students access to the rich resources of Paris, France and the rest of Europe.

One of our goals is to form ethical, open-minded and well-rounded citizens and leaders through serious academic work and research

The nexus between what the practioners like to call the ‘real world’ and the academic world is constantly underlined and reinforced; the one being essential to understand the other.

Through the cross-disciplinary curriculum and the diversity of our international faculty and student body, students leave AGS not only having an understanding and a tolerance for those who think, act, feel differently than they do, but also having the skills and the empathy needed to find effective, acceptable solutions to international issues.

AGS believes those able to obtain a higher education need to use this privilege wisely. To help create a world more just and humane that strives to avert major crises and to prevent violence in all its forms.
