Dr. Ruchi Anand presented a paper entitled International Environmental Justice: Where are We Heading With Biofuels? at the 50th Annual Convention of the International Studies Association (ISA). The convention was held on February 15th-18th in New York, around the theme "Exploring the Past, Anticipating the Future". Dr. Anand also participated in an ICC Moot Court Simulation: "Prosecuting a Junta for Allegedly Preventing a UN Security Council Humanitarian Aid Mission as a Prosecutor". |

Dr. Ruchi Anand is working on a chapter entitled 'International Environmental Justice: Twenty Years Later' which will be published by Ashgate in The Ashgate Research Companion to Ethics and International Relations. Dr. Anand will also author a chapter on 'How France Perceives US Elections 2008' in a book entitled The Global Election: How the World Views the 2008 US Presidential Election, to be published by Palgrave-Macmillan and edited by Matthias Maas. |

On May 16th, Dr. Ruchi Anand appeared on the international news TV channel France 24 to comment on the tropical cyclone in Burma/Myanmar last May and the right of the international community to intervene in such situations.

Dr. Ruchi Anand is scheduled to participate in the 49th Annual ISA Convention in San Francisco (USA) on March 26th - 29th 2008. The International Studies Association's annual convention is a major international scholarly event, including over 800 panel sessions and involving participants from more than 50 countries. The theme of this 2008 convention is Bridging Multiple Divides with Jack S. Levy as ISA President.

In July 2007, Dr. Ruchi Anand headed out to Princeton University, New Jersey, to teach a capsule on US Foreign Policy to graduating highschool seniors working towards their admission in the Ivy League Colleges in the US. She taught a program called the Junior Statesmen of America that has now existed for 60 years. Every year, over one thousand outstanding highschool students with a passion for government and politics gather on five campuses (Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and Northwastern) to immerse themselves in politics and debate. Dr Anand has offered this capsule on US foreign policy at Georgetown (2001) and Princeton (since 2003). |
